Email Agent Setup Guide

Copy a job's Application Email, send a test resume, and optionally connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 so messages send from your address.

The Email Agent turns a resume emailed to a job address into a scored applicant. This guide is the setup. The product page is the Email Agent.

Overview

Each published job has an Application Email on curriculo.me. Candidates email a resume to it. No mailbox connection is required for that. Connecting Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 is optional, and it is how you send from your own address and add a calendar.

Prerequisites

You need a Curriculo organization and a published job. Copying the apply address needs access to that job. Connecting a mailbox needs an org admin or owner.

Step 1. Copy the Application Email

Open the job. On the create-job form the field is Application Email. On the job overview card, use Copy Email.

The address must start with engg+ and end with @curriculo.me. Example shape: [email protected].

If Copy Email shows an address on your own domain, do not use it. Mail sent there is not ingested, and no applicant is created.

Step 2. Send a test resume

Email a resume to that address. The applicant shows up on the job in about a minute. The address is checked about every 45 seconds.

Step 3. Send from your own address

This step is optional.

Go to Settings, then Organization.

Two cards:

Turn on Email Sending and Calendar (on Microsoft, Calendar & Teams). Applications do not use Inbox Sync, and they do not use your own domain. Keep publishing the engg+ address.

You can connect up to five Gmail mailboxes. Microsoft 365 is for work accounts only.

What candidates receive

The agent sends these on its own. They are fixed messages. You do not approve them first, and you cannot edit the template.

The new applicant lands in the first pipeline stage. Automations on that stage can send email, notify the team, schedule an interview, or send a self-schedule link.

You reply yourself on the candidate Conversation tab. The resume is the attachment shown there.

Troubleshooting

Nothing showing. Check that the address starts with engg+ and ends with @curriculo.me, then wait about 45 seconds. The refresh control, tooltip Sync emails from Gmail (job toolbar: Reload), only syncs the connected org mailbox. It does not pull mail sent to the job address.

Reconnect required. This badge is on the Microsoft card only, with a Reconnect button. Google has no reconnect badge. An error that says unable to decrypt integration token means the same fix: reconnect the mailbox.

Disconnect

Disconnect from the same Organization page. The button is Disconnect.

Google asks: "Disconnect your organization's sending email? Emails will fall back to Curriculo's shared mailbox." That also disconnects Calendar. The token is revoked, and email bodies stored from that mailbox are cleared. Applicants stay.

Microsoft asks: "Disconnect Microsoft 365 email and calendar?" That deactivates the connection. It does not revoke the token or purge stored mail. Applicants stay.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long until a test resume shows up?

About a minute. The job address is checked about every 45 seconds.

The address on the job is on my company domain. Should I use it?

No. Use only the address that starts with engg+ and ends with @curriculo.me. Mail to your own domain is not ingested.

What does Reconnect required mean?

The Microsoft 365 connection needs a fresh sign-in. Use the Reconnect button on the Microsoft 365 / Outlook card. The same fix applies if you see unable to decrypt integration token.

Does Disconnect delete applicants?

No. Applicants stay. Disconnecting Google Workspace revokes the token and clears email bodies stored from that mailbox. Disconnecting Microsoft 365 deactivates the connection and does not purge stored mail.

Can I use a personal Outlook.com account?

No. Microsoft 365 support is for work accounts. Personal outlook.com and hotmail accounts are not supported.
