# Pricing and billing

Published self-serve prices, charged per request from a prepaid balance. No subscription, no monthly minimum and no setup fee. A single key and a single balance cover every operation.

## Prices

| Transcribe | $0.002 | Per minute of audio. |
| Summarise a recording | $0.002 + $0.01 | Per minute of audio, plus $0.01 per request. |
| Screening interview | $0.02 | Per candidate invite sent. Failed invites are not charged. |

All prices are USD and exclude local taxes.

## How charging works

- **One request is one charge.** A list of ten CVs in one `/parse/` call costs $0.01. The exceptions are screening interviews, charged per invite sent, and recordings, charged by duration.
- **Background tasks** are charged once, at their final outcome, as one request of their operation: an async parse of 25 links is $0.01. See [Background processing and callbacks](/docs/background-processing/).
- **Recording tasks reserve funds.** `/summary/async` and `/transcribe/async` reserve the charge for the 2-hour maximum when the task is accepted. Without enough credit for the reservation, the request returns `400`.

## What is never charged

- **Failed requests.** A `4xx` or `5xx` costs you nothing.
- **Failed background tasks,** such as a dead link or an unreadable file.
- **Failed screening invites.**

## Balance and payment

| Item | How it works |

| Prepaid balance | Calls draw from your credit balance. When it reaches zero, calls are refused with `403` until you add credit. |
| Payment method | Card, via Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages, never on a Curriculo screen. |
| Automatic top-up | Optional and off by default. Turn it on in **Console → Billing** and choose a threshold; when the balance falls below it, your card tops it back up so calls do not stop mid-workload. |

## Reading your spend

API responses do not carry cost data. **Console → Usage** shows calls, errors, p50 latency and estimated charge for the period, as a summary and a daily series, filterable by product and by key.
