Migrating off Greenhouse is a 15-minute operation. CSV export, one-click import, done. The hard part is the decision, not the mechanics.
If you’re here, you already know why. Greenhouse was built for enterprise recruiting teams with dedicated ops managers. For a 5 to 200 person startup, the platform is too much tool and too expensive:
A 50-person startup paying Greenhouse typically writes checks for $25,000 to $35,000 per year. The same startup on CurriculoATS Pro pays $1,200 per year at regular price, or $600 during early bird. Better AI, faster setup, no per-seat fees.
Step 1: Export your candidate data from Greenhouse
Greenhouse supports candidate export through the admin interface:
- Log into Greenhouse as an admin
- Go to Configure → Dev Center → API Credentials, or use the built-in export tool under Reports
- Export candidates as CSV. Include: name, email, resume URL, job applied to, stage, source, tags, notes
- Download the CSV file
If you have active jobs, export the job descriptions separately too. You’ll repost them on Curriculo in step 4.
Step 2: Sign up for CurriculoATS
Go to curriculo.me/ats/pricing and start with either the free plan or Pro ($100/month, early bird $50/month). Setup takes 15 minutes. No credit card required for the free plan.
During signup, invite your team. Curriculo has unlimited team members on every plan, so add everyone who touches hiring: recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers, your co-founder, your CEO. Zero per-seat fees.
Step 3: Import your candidate CSV
CurriculoATS supports one-click CSV import. Upload the CSV you exported from Greenhouse. The system will:
- Parse candidate data and resume URLs
- Run AI scoring on each imported candidate relative to your active jobs
- Write a full reasoning paragraph for every 0-100 score
- File candidates into the correct pipeline stages based on your CSV’s stage column
For each imported candidate, you’ll see the same person you had in Greenhouse, but with an outcome-based fit score and written reasoning explaining the score.
Step 4: Recreate your jobs
Post your active jobs on Curriculo. Each job takes 90 seconds. Paste or rewrite the description, and Curriculo’s AI auto-generates a skills rubric for outcome-based scoring. Candidates who applied through Greenhouse get re-scored against the new rubric automatically.
Curriculo gives you a branded careers portal out of the box, included on the free plan. Redirect your careers page from Greenhouse URLs to the new Curriculo URLs.
Step 5: Set up Slack, calendar, SSO
Enable the Slack integration so AI-scored candidates get pushed to a hiring channel. Connect Google Calendar for interview scheduling with self-booking links. Turn on Google Workspace SSO so your team signs in with work accounts.
All three are included on every plan, including the free plan. No add-on fees.
Step 6: Cancel Greenhouse
Once your candidates, jobs, and team are fully live on Curriculo, cancel your Greenhouse subscription. If you’re mid-contract, check your cancellation terms. Greenhouse typically requires 60 to 90 days notice for non-renewal. Plan accordingly.
A 50-person startup switching to Curriculo Pro saves approximately $23,800 in Year 1 ($25K Greenhouse vs $1,200 Curriculo). During early bird, closer to $24,400. Over 3 years, factoring Greenhouse’s 8-15% renewal increases, cumulative savings run $75,000 to $105,000.
